This necklace is made with blue clay beads I made when I was a teenager and have hung onto for many years, rediscovering them in a box recently. This type of clay is commonly known as Egyptian paste and contains glaze in the clay that makes it turn a bright, metallic blue when it is fired. I combined the clay beads with gemstones, real turquoise, and very special glass beads.
**In this world of computers, AI, and fast fashion, I wanted to distinguish my necklaces as uniquely handmade by an artist, so in every piece I've included one intentional "mistake" bead which gives the piece even more character.**
